Amelia Southgate-Peni is a Year 7 student. She started VBS as a Pre-school student back
in 2005!
Amelia is currently interested in learning about the war and
enjoys reading books about this topic.
She really enjoyed Morris Gleitzman’s war books called Once and Then,
Now and After.
During school time she is a hard working student. She shows responsibility around the school
and every day after school she makes sure the school library is organised with
all the books in the right place.
Other students in the class like that Mia gets on with her
work and that she isn’t a distraction by others.
Amelia enjoys creative writing and in her spare time likes to
write poetry and short stories.
Here is just one of the many poems she has created. It has a very important message to it.
THE
TAMING OF BULLIES
Liars and cheats are both the same
They are bullies and are both hard to tame
If you find ways to set them nice
They’ll turn from lions into mice
As a lion they would roar and bite
As a mouse they would kneel and fright
A mouse would be cautious of its actions
It would choose carefully out of different
fractions
If you can do such a thing as that
You can tame a fierce, wild cat
Those gifts are rarely received
Those gifts surprisingly were given to me
