Car Boot Sale - 10th September 2016.

Our students have been told about the up and coming Parents Association Car Boot Sale.

Encourage your child to have a stall...

Here’s a great way to make some

extra pocket money!

On Saturday 10th September from 8am to 1pm there is going to be a CAR BOOT SALE on the Vaiala Beach School Field.

What is a car boot sale?
This is where people sell their old things, normally out of the boot of their car.  They are great fun to go to because you might find a bargain and they are great to sell things at because it gets rid of your old things you no longer play with or need – which is like recycling!  You can even make some money.

What can you sell?
Anything ! (except your little brother or sister)  Ask your parents first if you are allowed to sell the items.  You can’t raid your parent’s things without their permission!

You may like to do some baking and sell cakes.
Maybe you have crafts you could sell.

What do I need to have on the day?
Some change, if someone gives you a $10 note and the item cost $2 – you will need to give them how much change?  Maybe you will have an adult at your stall to help you.

Why is there a car Boot Sale?
The Parent’s Association fundraise and with the money raised they buy resources and other educational things to help the school (Wow!  Thanks PA!)  This car boot sale is a fundraiser.  The PA want to sell 50 stalls.  Each stall will cost $50. Can you work out how much money this fundraiser will make?  You may like to pair up with someone so you can split the $50.  You are going to have to make more than the $50 (your cost) to have a profit!

Why is it better to sell things at a car boot Sale?
Lots of people will come to this car boot sale so you are going to have a bigger audience looking at your things to sell.

Should I price my things?
You may like to price some things before hand.  Talk with your parents about how much you should charge?

Do I have to have a stall?
No, you might like just to come and buy things from other people’s stalls.

Can anyone have a stall even if they don’t go to VBS?
YES!!!  This is open to anyone; all they have to do is register first.  They can contact Cheri on 7683684 or call Tanya at school 20518 to say they want a stall.
Please ask your parents, family and friends if they would like to have a stall at the VBS Parents’ Association Car Boot Sale!!!

Bring a little table or tarpaulin to put your things on and get ready to make some money.  Maybe you are starting to save for something.  The Year 7 and 8 students are fundraising for their camp in Term 4.  What would you like to save for?

New Cover for Court - April 2015

Look at the wonderful progress being made with our new cover for the court.  The first phase is nearly complete.

We are lucky at Vaiala Beach School to have the awesome support of the Parents Association (PA).  This group, along with parents, teachers and students, has put a tremendous amount of work into fundraising efforts for this project.
