Meet Andrea Schuster, a Year 8 student.
Now it is a different story. She was placed forth last month at a swim meet in Fiji.
Andrea is dedicated and tries to go for six training sessions a week. She even commits to morning training at
5.30am.
Swimming training has taught Andrea an important
life lesson – commitment and to never give up.
We wish her all the best for her future swimming.
Andrea has been at Vaiala Beach School for eight years
and is now in her final year. She likes
the school as it is always clean, she says the teachers are friendly and
helpful.
Andrea enjoys creative writing. Read her poem below.
Embarrassment’s the word
To summarize it all
I remember it like it was yesterday
I remember my tears fall
My cheeks were cherries
And my eyes were waterfalls
Embarrassments the word
To summarize it all
Forgetting is the key
To the worst day of your life
I remember the whole crowd laughing
I remember my mother sigh
My mind was completely blank
The disappointment in my father's eye
Forgetting is the key
To the worst day of your life
But the past is the past
So you leave it far behind you
Just keep moving forward
And don't let those days define you
You were embarrassed let's face it
So let me just remind you
But the past is past
So you leave it far behind you
Forgetting is the key
To the worst day of your life
I remember the whole crowd laughing
I remember my mother sigh
My mind was completely blank
The disappointment in my father's eye
Forgetting is the key
To the worst day of your life
But the past is the past
So you leave it far behind you
Just keep moving forward
And don't let those days define you
You were embarrassed let's face it
So let me just remind you
But the past is past
So you leave it far behind you
